Wayne, IL –-– Don’t miss out on the opportunity to compete at one of the country’s most distinguished horse shows this season! Stalls and entries for the 2010 Showplace Spring Spectacular are quickly filling up. One of Showplace Productions’ most outstanding horse shows each year, the Showplace Spring Spectacular brings many of the nation’s best horses and riders to the Chicago suburbs in June for a wonderful show experience. The three-week Spring Spectacular Horse Show Series will offer more than $500,000 in prize money with “AA” Hunter and Five Star Jumper rated competition. The beautiful Lamplight Equestrian Center in Wayne, IL, will host the Spring Spectacular on June 8 through Friday June 25, 2010.

Showplace Productions is a noted industry leader when it comes to taking care of their exhibitors, and this year’s Spring Spectacular will have more excitement than ever before. Showplace horse shows offer generous prize money, all-weather footing, jumps and course design, wonderful hospitality and many special educational opportunities. Exhibitors have a lot to look forward to during this year’s world-class Spring Spectacular Horse Show Series, including amazing prizes. The competition features some of the best prize money in the country in both the hunters and the jumpers. Featuring over $500,000 in total prize money, highlights include weekly $30,000 Open Jumper Grand Prix and over $80,000 in hunter classic money. In addition to excellent prize money, Showplace Productions awards division championships, grand championships and beautiful coolers and ribbons to all top winners.

Along with the many impressive awards during the three weeks of competition, the Showplace Spring Spectacular will host qualifiers for the Showplace Leading Rider Series, in which riders compete for $60,000 worth of bonus money to be divided between the hunter and jumper divisions at the end of the season. Riders will also have a once in a lifetime opportunity to win a valuable Rolex watch during the Rolex Open Rider Challenge. One of three possible opportunities to win a Rolex will come if a rider wins two of the three Grand Prix classes on the same horse at the Showplace Spring Spectacular Horse Show Series.

Many educational opportunities will be available at the Showplace Spring Spectacular as well. Diane Carney, one of Chicago’s top hunter/jumper trainers will be teaching three clinics at this year’s June shows. On Friday, June 11, and Friday, June 18, Carney will host Zone V Horsemanship Study Groups. On Monday, June 14, Carney will also host a Grass Roots Riding Clinic, which will be open to all levels, including riders that are getting ready to show, as well as more advanced riders on green horses. Included in this clinic at the end of the day will be a course walk of the Showplace Productions USHJA International Hunter Derby course.

Each year, Showplace Productions hosts an exciting ‘Derby Day’ during their Spring Spectacular II. The 2010 Showplace Derby Day will be held on Tuesday, June 15, 2010, and will feature a $15,000 Chronicle of the Horse/USHJA International Hunter Derby, a $5,000 USHJA 3’ Hunter Derby, and the always electrifying $10,000 Open Jumper Speed Derby, all held in the Lamplight Equestrian Center’s Grand Prix Ring. Along with the exciting classes, Showplace Productions hosts special parties for exhibitors and spectators during the event. A big barbeque cookout provides the perfect venue to allow riders, trainers and owners to socialize and have fun while enjoying the beautiful weather and gorgeous setting of Chicago in June.
