Canadian Vaulters Ready to Participate 2009 Kentucky Cup Vaulting Event

Ottawa, Ontario--- VaultCanada is please to announce the vaulters who will be representing Canada at the 2009 Kentucky Cup Vaulting, held from July 29 to August 2, at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington, Kentucky, US. This event will act as a test competition for Vaulting in preparation for the 2010 World Equestrian Games, which will be held at the same event site.

The team’s Chef d’équipe is Marita Hoppe of De Winton, AB.
“The hardest work is behind us, and we are excited to begin,” said Hoppe. “The arena here is the best that it could be, and the event organizers have done a fantastic job.”
This is an important competition for the Canadian vaulters who will be vying for one of the three individual spots on the woman’s vaulting team as members of Canadian Equestrian Team heading to the 2010 World Equestrian Games.
A two and one star Federation Equestre International (FEI) event, the Kentucky Cup Vaulting offers a similar format to the Games. The competition will have Compulsories and Freestyle for round one for both the CVI* and CVI**, but the second round of the CVI** has a Technical test in place of the Compulsories. In addition to the Canadian entries, the event will also feature vaulters from Denmark, Italy, South Africa, Australia, Argentina, China and the United States.
Competition will begin daily at 8 a.m. and will resume in the afternoon at 1 p.m.
