Evi Strasser Enjoys Top 10 Placings at CDI-W Kaposvar and CDI3* Weikersdorf

Ottawa, ON --- Evi Stasser represented Canada twice in Europe in October at CDI-W Kaposvar in Hungary, held October 9–12, and at CDI3* Weikersdorf, held October 15–19, in Austria.

At the international competition at CDI-W Kaposvar, which saw riders from 11 nations vie for top honours, Strasser, of Sainte-Adele, QC, rode her long-time partner Quantum Tyme, a 13-year-old Oldenburg gelding (Quattro x Argentinius), to fifth place with a score of 67.000% in the Grand Prix. The duo then moved on to the Grand Prix Freestyle where they were awarded 67.650% for a second fifth place finish.

“Quantum went just amazing in the Grand Prix and we scored very close to the top riders since the marks were very close from second to fifth place,” remarked Strasser. “My results show that you have to keep competing against the best to get better, and as a result we are more confirmed in our performance.”

In the Advanced division, Strasser and her young up-and-coming FEI horse Action Tyme, an eight-year-old Oldenburg stallion (Aktuell x Aleksander), placed fifth with a score of 66.417% in the Prix St. Georges class, and third in the Intermediaire I with 67.000%. Strasser’s scores with Action Tyme kept improving throughout the competition with their final score of 67.650%, for seventh place, in the Intermediaire I Freestyle.

Strasser and her horses then moved on to CDI3* Weikersdorf where Quantum Tyme placed eighth in the Grand Prix with 65,000%, and then the pair moved up the leaderboard in the Grand Prix Special to third spot with 65.880%.

The Grand Prix scores from the CDI competitions at Kaposvar and Weikersdorf were added together for a special award named the Euro Grand Prix Cup. Strasser placed second with a combined score of 132.000, just 2.043 behind the winner, Victoria Max-Theurer of Austria.

With Action Tyme, Strasser placed sixth with 65.800%, in the Prix St. Georges class at CDI3* Weikersdorf, and then scored 64.400% in the Intermediaire I class for seventh place.

“Action Tyme is just a perfect show horse. He has never let me down,” noted Strasser. “He gives me his all, and there is much more for him the future.” Strasser has plans to move Action Tyme up to the Grand Prix level in the new year. “I'm very fortunate to have two really top horses. Without them, I wouldn't be where I'm now.”

Strasser’s strong European results currently rank her in third position in the FEI Western European League World Cup Standings ahead of Germany’s Isabell Werth and defending 2008 champion Anky van Grunsven of the Netherlands.
