Rock Star and Jennifer Alfano of SBS Farms Named Grand Hunter Champions at Saratoga Classic Horse Show

Kacey McCann and Mustique are Grand Junior Hunter Champions

Saratoga Springs, NY --- his past week, SBS Farms traveled to the Saratoga Classic Horse Show at Skidmore College. They came home with multiple championships and blue ribbons. SBS Farms is based in Buffalo, NY, at the Buffalo Therapeutic Riding Center (BTRC) and is led by Susie Schoellkopf and Jennifer Alfano.

Rider and trainer Jennifer Alfano was extremely successful with Rock Star, owned by Bright Star 158 LLC. Rock Star was reserve champion in the Second Year Green Working Hunters and champion in the Regular Working Hunters. The talented bay gelding was the high score of the professional divisions and was named the Grand Hunter Champion of the week.

Another Bright Star 158-owned horse, Magnolia, was reserve champion in the Pre-Green 3’ Hunters. Alfano and Sting, owned by SBS Farms, were the reserve champions in the Green Conformation Hunters.

Charlotte Jacobs of East Aurora, NY, made the big move up from the pony hunter division to the Children’s Hunters on Marcellus, who is owned by the BTRC. Jacobs finished first and third and won the reserve championship in the Children’s Hunter 14 & Under division. She was also victorious in the Equitation 11 & Under over fences class.

Junior rider Kacey McCann of Palmyra, PA, was victorious in the hunters, jumpers and equitation this past week. On Comanche, she won the Equitation 15-17 and was third overall in the WIHS Equitation Classic. She finished as the High Junior Jumper champion on Rembrandt VH Paradijs, who is owned by Danielle Torano.

On Mustique, owned by SBS Farms, McCann was the Small Junior 16-17 Hunter champion and Grand Junior Hunter Champion. She also won the Junior Hunter Classic on Pirate, owned by Caroline Moran. Pirate received two amazing scores of 90 in the two-round competition.
