Hearthrob and Keith Alaimo Sweep Pre-Green Hunters
at Jacksonville National Horse Show
January 31, 2007
Green Cove Springs, FL --- At last week’s Jacksonville National Horse Show at the Clay County Fairgrounds, Over the Hill Farm and trainer Bill Schaub had another successful week with old and new names alike.
In the Pre-Green 3’3” Hunter division, professional rider Keith Alaimo rode Hearthrob for owner Lee Cesery to the championship after taking the blue ribbon in every class. Cesery has owned the talented seven year old Warmblood gelding for a year and won many tricolor ribbons on him in 2006 in the Adult Amateur Hunters.
New to the Over the Hill Farm team is 11 year old Shawn Cassidy of Knoxville, TN. Cassidy rode Miss Australia for owner Lauren Hogan to the championship in the Small Pony Hunters. Another Hogan-owned entry, Fashion Talk, won high ribbons in every class of the Medium Green Pony Hunters. On Kiss the Rain, owned by Anne Gardner, Cassidy finished as the reserve champion in the Medium Pony Hunters.
“Shawn is a great rider,” Schaub remarked. “He puts all the ponies to sleep when he gets on, so he’s great for the green ponies!”
Another top young rider at Over the Hill is Parker Wright, who piloted Fancy Feet to second and third places, among other ribbons, in the highly competitive Small Pony Hunters.
Top catch rider Taylor Ann Adams won the Large Pony Hunter Classic and was reserve champion in the division on Anne Gardner’s Showboat. On Cover Charge, owned by Don Stewart Jr. and Darby Hill Farm, she won the Large Junior Hunter Classic.
A second new face at Over the Hill Farm is Brennan Cooper, who rode Eiger to the reserve championship and second place in the Pre-Children’s Hunter Classic. It is only the second show for Eiger, a four year old Canadian Warmblood gelding. “He’s really quiet and just goes around great for such a young horse,” Schaub explained. “Brennan is a really talented rider. She does a beautiful job with him. She takes him home and when they come to the shows, he’s better every week.”
Over the Hill Farm will show next at the HITS Ocala Winter Series on January 31 to February 4, 2007.
