Vinceremos Drill Team to Perform During Halftime at Polo on Sunday

January 17, 2007

Wellington, FL --- A unified drill team from Vinceremos Therapeutic Riding Center will perform during halftime at polo at 3 p.m. on Sunday, January 21, 2007, at the International Polo Club Palm Beach.

The demonstration will be composed of four riders and will last about five minutes. The riders, two Vinceremos volunteers and two Special Olympic athletes, are Sarah Menor, Christina Dargan, Christina Cooney and Carrie Macmillan. Vinceremos will bring their own horses to use for the performance.

The center, based in Loxahatchee Grove, FL, is a nonprofit organization that provides recreational and therapeutic riding instruction to people of all ages with varying developmental, physical and psychological disabilities in an energetic and nurturing setting. The organization has assisted more than 1000 adults and children to gain a sense of accomplishment, greater independence and a higher quality of life.

The organization recently launched the biggest fundraiser in its 25-year history, “Cover Our Kids.” The capital campaign will raise money for a three-phase project: build a covered riding arena, build a new stable with office space to better serve clients, and improve the parking area. The annual benefit and dinner dance will be held on February 23, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. at IPC.

International Polo Club Palm Beach began its fourth season of high-goal polo on January 14. The polo matches are open to the public. Game tickets may be purchased at the gate on the day of the game or in advance at the stadium box office.

International Polo Club Palm Beach is located at 3667 120th Avenue South, between Pierson Road and Lake Worth Road in Wellington. For information, directions or ticket purchases, please call the club at (561) 204-5687 or visit the website at www.internationalpoloclub.com
