San Juan Capistrano, CA --- Karen Healey Stables concluded the Oaks Blenheim June Classic Horse Show series with a bang on June 21-25 as they swept victory in every discipline offered at the show. Assistant trainer and rider Kasey Ament and Uniek made their grand prix debut in the Copa de Amistad Grand Prix and had a fantastic fifth place finish.
In the equitation ring, the riders of Karen Healey Stables dominated once again. They took four of the top five places in the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search with: 1. Michelle Morris, La Cañada, CA, 2. Veronica Tracy, San Juan Capistrano, 3. Zoe Kornberg, Portola Valley, and 5. Tina Dilandri, La Jolla.
The Washington International Horse Show Equitation Classic provided another opportunity for victory. In the Hunter phase, Shelby Wakeman of Westlake, CA, won while Morris was second and Tracy was fourth. Morris picked up the blue ribbon in the jumper phase and Wakeman was second. For the overall results in the class, Wakeman took first place, Morris was second, Kornberg fourth, and Tracy was sixth.
Dilandri was first in the WCE Medal, and Wakeman was second. Wakeman also won the Equitation 15-17 under saddle class. In the over fences portion of the Equitation 15-17 division, Tracy was second and Morris was fourth.
The adult riders also swept the blue ribbons in the equitation. Kristi Siam of Chatsworth, CA, won the PCHA Adult Medal class and was fourth in the CPHA Adult Medal. The win in that class went to Yvette Lang-Einczig of Malibu. Einczig went on to win the CPHA Foundation Medal and the Equitation Over 18 over fences class.
Ament, who made her grand prix debut this week, showed her adapting skills when she rode Badger to the win in the 1.10 meter Jumper class.
Dilandri and Casa Blanca picked up high ribbons in the Low Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumpers this week with a second place in the division and third place in the Classic. Kornberg and Ethos had two top Classic ribbons with a third in the Six Year Old Jumper Classic and a fifth in the Modified Jumper Classic. Fred Bauer and Roma M finished fourth in the High Junior/Amateur-Owner Jumper Classic.
Stefanie Mazer of Santa Monica, CA, did double duty with her mount, La Luna. They placed second in the Adult Amateur Jumpers and the Classic, but also competed for a first and second place finish in the Low Amateur-Owner Hunters. A repeat performance of that finish in the division came from Siam and Karma.
Skylar Nelson piloted two ponies to ribbons in the hunters. Carlye Byron-Nelson’s Macy Grey and Nelson picked up a first, second, and fifth in the Medium Pony Hunters. At the Zone Finals for the Small Pony Hunters, Nelson and Magic Formula were second in the model, fourth under saddle, and eighth over fences.
Lang-Einczig and her own Corland also finished with a second and third in the Amateur-owner 36 & Over Hunters.
It was a fabulous run of horse shows at the beautiful Oaks Blenheim June Classic Horse Show series for the horses and riders of Karen Healey Stables.
