Canadian Eventing Team Announced for 2006 World Equestrian Games

Ottawa, ON --- The Canadian Eventing Committee is pleased to announce that the Canadian Eventing Team for the 2006 World Equestrian Games (WEG), in Aachen, Germany has been named according to the selection criteria.
The named riders in alphabetical order are:
Rider: Kelli McMullen Temple - Age 46, currently resides in Round Hill, Virginia
Horse: Paris II – nine-year-old brown Selle Francais gelding, 16.2hh
Owners: Kelli McMullen Temple, Christine Stiller and Bob Stiller
Rider: Ian Roberts – Age 48, currently resides in Port Perry, ON
Horse: Napalm - 10-year-old grey Irish Sport Horse gelding , 16.3hh
Owners: Ian Roberts, Kelly Plitz and Tracey Newman

“We are very excited to be sending these two seasoned competitors on their young horses to the World’s after their performances at the Rolex this spring,” stated High Performance Committee Chair Grit High. “We have great faith that Kelli and Ian will represent Canada to the very best of their ability, as they have been working very hard all winter and throughout the spring under the expert guidance of David O’Connor.”
The Team members will compete at the Maui Jim Horse Trials, July 8-9 , in Illinois, USA before meeting for their final pre-WEG training in Virginia, USA under the leadership of David O’Connor, International Technical Advisor. Roberts and McMullen Temple will depart for Germany on August 10 with Chef d’Equipe, Greg Paull.
The 2006 World Equestrian Games will feature 800 competitors from seven different disciplines vying for success at one of the most prestigious competitions in the world.
