Arabian Horse Show a Success Despite Deluge

June 11, 2006

Sussex, NB --- With over $3000 in cash and prizes up for grabs in the over 125 classes offered, competitors from New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and Maine converged on the Princess Louise Park Show Centre for the week-end. Despite the deluge of rain that hit the area over the week-end, competitors and spectators alike were warm and dry in the enclosed Arena at the PLP Show Centre.

This was the ninth annual show for the Atlantic Canada Arabian Horse Show and the third consecutive one held at the PLP Show Centre. “This is a showcase of some of the most interesting Arabian classes,” said Nicole Steeves, one of the event’s organizers. In addition to the normal equitation and halter classes, this show featured an exciting reining competition and the crowd pleasing “liberty” class where the horses perform alone, without rider or driver, demonstrating the graceful movement so typical of the breed.
