Burbank, CA --- The National Preview Horse Show was held on November 9-13, 2005, at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center in Burbank, California. It was a glimpse into the success that riders from Karen Healey Stables are sure to have for next year as well.

Junior rider Teal Pacyna, who trains with her mother Michelle Pacyna and at Karen Healey Stables, topped off a great year of equitation when she won her second medal final in a month. After a victory in the San Fernando 17 & Under Medal Finals, Pacyna came to the National Preview and emerged triumphant over 41 other competitors in the Los Angeles Horse Show Association Junior Medal Finals. Pacyna rode Gloria Sheller’s Calina and was also second in the LAHSA Medal Warm-up over 70 other riders.

Also finishing in the top ten of the LAHSA Junior Medal Finals was Alexandra Conforti, who rode The Graduate. Conforti won the USEF Show Jumping Talent Search class, while Torie Immel and Ambassador were third.

Immel was solid in the equitation ring this past weekend. She won the Equitation 14-15 over fences class and was third under saddle. Karen Healey Stables dominated the Equitation 14-15 division. In addition to Immel’s ribbons, Veronica Tracy and Guns ‘N Roses won the under saddle and were second over fences. Tiffany Weeda, who rode Rockafeller, was second under saddle and fourth over fences.

Weeda won the blue ribbon in the ASPCA Maclay Horsemanship class, while Tracy finished second. Tracy had just returned from competing on the East Coast for the first time, where she impressed many by finishing in the top 25 in the country at the USEF/Pessoa Hunt Seat Medal Finals in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.

Winning the blue ribbon or even the championship tricolor is nothing new for the sleek bay gelding Country Grammar and owner/rider Mary Ann Weisberg-Perry. They picked up another division win in the Amateur-Owner 36 & Over Hunters this past weekend. Country Grammar won three of four over fences classes and finished second under saddle.

Karen Healey Stables assistant trainer and rider Kasey Ament piloted Country Grammar earlier in the week to the win in the Schooling Hunters. Ament also wore her jumper hat as she and Fred Bauer’s Hampton Court raced to the win in the 1.30m Jumpers.

In the Modified Amateur Hunters, a familiar face graced the winners circle. 1990 ASPCA Maclay National Championship winner Lauren Kay rode Santino to victory. Also successful in the Modified Amateur Hunters were Yvette Lang-Einczig and Corland.

The National Preview this past week leads up to the Los Angeles National Horse Show, which will be held on November 16-20, 2005, at the Los Angeles Equestrian Center. Karen Healey Stables will send a team of riders to contend at the horse show and are sure to come home with the lion’s share of prizes.
