Equitation’s new logo: “Drugs Off”

November 1, 2005

Verona, IT --- At the “Fiera cavalli” (Equestrian Festival) of Verona, (Saturday, November 5 in the Bellini room, at 11am), “Drugs Off” will be presented. It is a new and innovative project in the fight against drugs - an innovative, new way to promote the social and cultural values of equitation and spearhead the fight against ‘doping’ in equestrian competitions.

This new project will be presented by the President of the Italian Federation of Equestrian Sports (FISE), Cesare Croce, The President of the Italian Association of Horse Owners, Vittorio Orlandi, and Giacomo Muccioli, head of San Patrignano’s horse breeding activities.

“Drugs Off” will engage all types of equestrian events in Italy, from basic equitation (pony clubs, instructors), to the top levels (Italian national team, professional riders), promoting equitation as an educative and formative tool for young people, and sportsmanship and drug-free competition as crucial elements in equestrian culture. The project will foresee new and more effective forms of drug testing, and will widen in scope through time, eventually being proposed to the International Federation as well as the International Association of Professional Riders and other National Federations.

“Drugs Off”, seen for the first time last July during the European Show Jumping Championship at San Patrignano, is also present on “team Scot”’s motorcycles, ridden by Andrea Dovizioso in the 125 and 250cc. It is the new logo/claim utilized by the community to communicate its new drug prevention activities, as well as its work with young people. It was created pro bono by In Testa, an agency of corporate identity of the Armando testa Group, with the objective of sending a clear message against the use of any and all drugs, particularly in the world of sports.
