- What is a podcast?

A podcast is similar to a radio show, only you can control when you want to listen to it. Listeners also have the ability to be subscribed to the podcast using various programs such as Apple iTunes.
Back to the top - How can I download your podcast?

You can either subscribe to our podcast or you can manually download each podcast episode. Subscribing to a podcast is explained in this FAQ. If you want to download an episode, go to the E-Notes page on Canada Equine ...Online. On the right you will see a section for the "Equinely-Inclined Podcast" with a sub-section called "Episode Quick List". Select from the list (ordered from newest to oldest) which episode you would like to download; the show notes for that episode will be loaded.
If you click on the 'Download this Episode' link, the episode may begin to stream (play) immediately; you may wish to right-click and save the file locally before playing it. Please note the following times for downloading various amounts of data (our episodes are all about 10 MB, more or less):

It'll take awhile but you probably don't have to sit at your computer while it's happening!
Remember, you don't have to sit at your computer while the episode is playing, if you are able to burn it to a CD then listen to it on a player while you do chores ...or listen in the truck while you're driving to shows!

There are many ways to listen to our podcast. You can download it straight off the site or, you can subscribe to it using a program. Once you have the file you can listen to it on your computer, burn it to a CD so you can listen to it in your car or on an other CD player, or put it on a portable music player like an iPod.

We have provided you with many easy ways to subscribe to a podcast using various different services. The first thing you must do is go to the E-Notes page on Canada Equine ...Online. On the right you will see a section for the "Equinely-Inclined Podcast" with a link called "Subscribe to the podcast". Click on that link and a page will load that will have a section called "Subscribe Now!". If you are new to all of this, we recommend that you select the "Add to iTunes" option. If you don't have iTunes you will need to download it (a free download). You can do that by going here and following instructions. If you know that you have it installed on your computer, click on the "Add to iTunes" link and it will add the podcast to iTunes.

No you do not need an iPod to listen to our podcast. You can actually listen to a podcast on almost any thing that plays music. You can download it to any mp3 player, play it on a computer, or even burn it to a CD so you can listen to it in your car or stereo.
