Do you have a crazy passion for horses! We need a passionate, self-directed leader to fill the toughest administrative position at Canada’s largest equine specialty hospital, Moore and Co. Veterinary Services Ltd. Our service area covers a 150 KM radius of Calgary, as well as in-hospital surgery cases and referral practice and we need a quarterback to triage our incoming calls ensuring our 13 veterinarians are booked efficiently and aggressively. We need the ‘right’ person to look after scheduling, logistics, initial triage, staff coordination and all the daily challenges of a large veterinary hospital environment. We offer great wages, benefits, clothing allowances, and continuing education opportunities, to name a few. If you do not have an in-depth knowledge of equine anatomy, physiology, pharmaceuticals and treatment protocols, you need not apply! This is a demanding, specialized position that requires the right mix of confidence, multi-tasking capabilities, demeanor and disposition to work with 40 other people that love what they do. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Answering phones and handling calls at main Hospital reception
- Look after scheduling of clients and ambulatory veterinarians

- Book appointments/surgeries
- Admitting appointments
- Admitting surgery patients
- Invoicing client visits and surgeries
- Enter and call follow-up callbacks

- Call clients for appointment reminders and pre-surgical protocol
- Keep track of and give food orders to inventory department
- Print out forms and labels as needed (Imports/Coggins/Exports)
- Package samples for lab and/or courier pickup

- Assist other receptionist as needed and time allows
- GPS system application in the works

Beginner Riding Lesson Instructor Needed: Do you have experience teaching beginner riding? Cadence Creek Equine Centre (www.cadencecreek.ca), located 15 minutes East of Edmonton, Alberta is in need of an instructor for our beginner group lesson program, starting at age 6. Experienced Teaching Assistants are here to worry about getting the horses and kids tacked and ready - you get to concentrate on teaching! Some teaching experience is required, certification would be great, but most important is the ability to communicate with children. Must have a positive and upbeat demeanor. Lessons are evenings and weekends with a minimum of one evening a week; more for the right person. Pay is good, with the possibility of bringing your own horse. Summer camp work is also coming up.
